How close are these languages?


Linear B has been deciphered and translated by 1952 by Michael Ventris.  It consists of 90 syllable signs not-yet-known number of pictorial signs.  Each syllable represents either a vowel or an open syllable (consonant-vowel).


Study of the Pylos tablets yields a wealth of information about the end of the Bronze Age at that Palace society.                                       

 

Surely if indeed Linear Elamite has been decoded at last it will open a whole new world of information about that past.


TOday, 1 September 2022, drought revealed Bronze Age MIttani City in today’s Iran: and a cuneiform letter was found in its original envelope.  So far it has not been translated.
